PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) officially launched its high-performance electric vehicle (EV), the Ioniq 5 N, at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024 in Jakarta.
The Ioniq 5 N launch today marks the arrival of the N brand in the Indonesian automotive market, making the Ioniq 5 N the first N car available to Indonesian customers.
To make it even more of a special occasion is the fact it is locally assembled and priced at around 1.3 billion rupiah (RM376,000).
HMID is accepting pre-bookings now through the local Hyundai website.
Alongside the Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai is displaying the N Vision 74, a hybrid hydrogen-based electric vehicle that epitomises Hyundai’s long-term vision for sustainable high-performance cars.
With a unique combination of an electric battery system and a fuel cell, the N Vision 74 can refuel in just 5 minutes, providing a range of over 600km.
The Ioniq 5 N and the N Vision 74 showcase at GIIAS 2024 highlight Hyundai’s drive to revolutionise the future of high-performance cars in the industry.
The Ioniq 5 N is crafted under the Hyundai N team, drawing inspiration from Namyang, South Korea, and Nürburgring, Germany.
Its cutting-edge technology and innovation are developed at Namyang, Hyundai’s research and development hub in South Korea.
N models’ performance, handling, and safety are rigorously tested at Nürburgring, the renowned racetrack in Germany.
Since 2015, Hyundai has been actively innovating through N, highlighting its cutting-edge technology in the automotive world.
The rapid growth of the N is a result of a decision to deliver a fun-to-drive experience centered around three core principles: Corner Rascal for agility and responsiveness, Racetrack Capability for performance under extreme conditions, and Everyday Sportscar for daily comfort and sports car excitement.
The Ioniq 5 N combines advanced technology with dynamic performance and sound management systems to enhance the overall driving experience.
It is equipped with Hyundai’s E-GMP technology and features like N Launch Control, N e-Shift, and N Pedal for improved acceleration and control. The N Grin Boost (NGB) feature provides an additional 10 seconds of power, while the N Drift Optimiser and N Race feature enhance the driving experience further.
The Ioniq 5 N delivers a maximum power output of 650 PS with NGB, using a next-generation 84.0 kWh battery and dual electric motors.
These innovations allow the Ioniq 5 N to achieve a base 609 PS and 740 Nm of torque, reaching 650 PS and 770 Nm with NGB activated. The Ioniq 5 N can reach a top speed of 260kph and accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 3.5 seconds, or 3.4 seconds with NGB, providing a high-performance driving experience comparable to an internal combustion engine car.
The Jakarta motor show is held from July 18-28.
