BYD Sime Motors has expanded the 2026 Sealion 7 range in Malaysia to three variants, adding a lower-priced Dynamic while giving Premium and Performance larger batteries and faster DC charging.
The Dynamic is officially priced at RM164,700. The first 300 customers may pay RM160,700 after a RM4,000 discount or take a complimentary wallbox.
It lowers the Sealion 7’s entry price. When the electric SUV entered Malaysia in November 2024, the range started with the RM184,500 Premium and topped out with the RM200,500 Performance. The revised Premium now costs RM189,835, while the Performance is RM205,465. All prices are on-the-road without insurance.
The Dynamic uses a single rear motor producing 170 kW and 380 Nm. It completes the 0–100 kph run in 7.3 seconds and is paired with a 71.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate Blade Battery. BYD quotes a 520 km NEDC range (416km WLTP estimate).
Charging capability is lower than on costlier versions. The Dynamic accepts up to 7 kW through an alternating current charger and 110 kW at a direct current fast charger. It rides on staggered 19-inch wheels, with 235/50 tyres at the front and 255/45 tyres at the rear.
The Premium remains rear-wheel drive but retains the stronger 230 kW motor and 380 Nm output. Its battery capacity rises from 82.56 kWh to 91.39 kWh, lifting the claimed NEDC range from 567 km to 650 km (520km, up 67km WLTP).

Maximum DC charging also jumps from 150 kW to 230 kW, while AC charging remains rated at 11 kW. The Premium’s kerb weight is now 2,295 kg. Its 0–100 kph time is 6.9 seconds, compared with 6.7 seconds for the previous version.
The all-wheel-drive Performance keeps its twin-motor powertrain, producing a combined 390 kW and 690 Nm. Acceleration is unchanged at 4.5 seconds from rest to 100 kph.
It receives the same 91.39 kWh battery and 230 kW DC charging rate as the Premium. Range rises from the previous 542 km to 600 km on the NEDC test (480km, up 47km WLTP) . It keeps red brake callipers and 20-inch wheels wearing 245/45 tyres.
Overall dimensions and cabin layout remain unchanged. All three variants measure 4,830 mm long, 1,925 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall, with a 2,930 mm wheelbase. The Dynamic has 500 litres of rear luggage space, while the Premium and Performance provide 520 litres. All versions have a 58-litre front compartment.
Standard equipment includes a 15.6-inch rotating central touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic glass roof, powered tailgate, 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane support, blind-spot detection and cross-traffic alerts.
There are specification differences. The Dynamic uses vegan leather upholstery and a 10-speaker audio system, while the Premium and Performance receive leather seats, a head-up display and a 12-speaker Dynaudio system.
All three have ventilated front seats, but the upper variants add driver’s-seat lumbar, leg-rest and position-memory functions.
The Premium gains Ultraviolet as an exclusive new exterior colour. Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, Shark Grey and Cosmos Black are offered across the range. Every version comes with a black cabin.
BYD said more than 6,300 Sealion 7 units have been delivered in Malaysia since the model’s 2024 introduction. The company also described it as the country’s best-selling D-segment electric SUV in 2025.
BYD Malaysia managing director Jacob Ma said the three-version range lets buyers choose between lower entry cost, longer range and all-wheel-drive performance.
BYD Sime Motors managing director Adeline Lew pointed to the company’s local support network, which now comprises 44 sales and marketing outlets, 28 aftersales facilities and 12 body and paint centres. BYD has also opened its first certified pre-owned showroom in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Premium launch package includes a complimentary wallbox and an RM3,888 overtrade bonus. Performance buyers receive a wallbox and an RM2,888 overtrade bonus.
Warranty coverage is six years or 150,000 km for the vehicle, and eight years or 160,000 km for both the high-voltage battery and drive unit. A vehicle-to-load adaptor and a Type 2 charging cable with a three-pin plug are also included.
The 2026 Sealion 7 is being displayed at BYD Sime Motors’ “Beyond Your Drive”” roadshow at 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya from July 30 to Aug 2. Customers who book any BYD model there will receive RM200 in charging credits.
