Honda Super-ONE EV debuts in Indonesia, limited to 100 units

Honda has introduced the Super-ONE in Indonesia at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, with just 100 units allocated for 2026.

The compact electric hatchback debut followed its first global market launch in Singapore in January 2026, making Indonesia the second Southeast Asian country to get it.

Honda Prospect Motor sales and marketing director Yusak Billy said the restricted supply followed strong demand in Japan, where orders reached 12,000 units within two months.

Indonesian media reports have placed the Super-ONE at between 300 million and 400 million rupiah (RM67,900 to RM90,600), although Honda will announce the official price on Aug 5.

The cars will arrive fully imported from Japan.

The Super-ONE is based on the N-ONE e: platform but receives a wider track, flared wheelarches, 15-inch wheels and a dedicated chassis. Honda quotes a kerb weight of 1,090 kg, unusually low for a battery-electric car.

Its 29.6 kWh battery provides up to 274 km under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Cycle, or WLTC.

Normal output is 47 kW. Selecting Boost raises power to 70 kW, or about 95 PS, while peak torque is listed at 162 Nm. Drivers can choose Econ, City, Normal, Sport and Boost settings, with one-pedal operation available in City mode.

Honda has tried to give the small EV some of the interaction normally associated with a petrol hot hatch. Boost mode activates a simulated seven-speed transmission, cabin sound effects and revised instrument graphics. The system reproduces the sensation of gear changes rather than playing only a continuous artificial engine note.

Honda quotes about 4.5 hours for AC charging using a unit rated above 6 kW. Charging to 80% takes around 30 minutes when connected to a DC charger delivering more than 50 kW, although the company has not disclosed the car’s exact peak DC input.

The cabin includes a nine-inch Honda Connect display with Google built in, smartphone integration and a Bose audio system. Honda Sensing equipment includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assistance and collision-mitigation braking.

Billy said customers had already placed early orders before the formal launch. With only 100 cars available this year, supply may be the immediate obstacle for Indonesian buyers.

The Super-ONE is intended mainly for city use rather than long-distance family travel. Honda has given it a more playful, performance-oriented character than most small EVs. Its Indonesian price, due on Aug 5, will determine how convincing that package looks.

Below is a brief video look at the Super-ONE for Singapore.
