Dongfeng Nissan’s new NX7 has surfaced in China with up to 225km of WLTC electric range, giving the five-seat plug-in hybrid SUV one of its strongest selling points before its market launch.
The NX7 appeared in the latest vehicle filings from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). It uses a 40.95kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and is listed with 220km or 225km of pure-electric range under WLTC, depending on specification.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre petrol-electric system. The naturally aspirated NR15 engine produces 73kW, while the drive motor has a peak output of 170kW. Top speed is listed at 180kph.
At 4,785mm long, up to 1,932mm wide and 1,665mm high, the NX7 sits on a 2,815mm wheelbase. It is the fourth model in Dongfeng Nissan’s China-developed N series, following the N7, N6 and larger NX8.
The styling continues themes already seen on the NX8, although the NX7 has a lower, more compact profile. It gets split headlamps, semi-hidden door handles, a blacked-out full-width rear light assembly and an illuminated Nissan script across the tail.
MIIT images also show that a roof-mounted LiDAR unit will be available as an option. Chinese reports say the NX7 will support urban navigation-assisted driving, or NOA, although detailed specifications for the driver-assistance system have yet to be announced.
The regulatory filing classifies the NX7 as a plug-in hybrid, clearing up some early reports that described it as a range-extender.
Dongfeng Nissan has yet to announce final pricing. Chinese reports point to a fourth-quarter 2026 launch, but the company has not disclosed full equipment specifications or the complete variant line-up.
