Public Bank has teamed up with iCaur Malaysia on vehicle financing, linking the electric vehicle brand to its “Go Green with Green Vehicle Financing – Paint the Town Green” campaign.
The bank’s 2026 campaign runs from March 1 to Dec 31. Published terms offer qualifying customers preferential interest rates, a one-off RM300 charging credit and financing of up to 90% of a vehicle’s on-the-road price. Approval is subject to Public Bank’s credit assessment and campaign conditions.
The wider programme covers battery-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, hybrids and range-extended EVs.
The terms also require a newly onboarded hire-purchase application bundled with at least one qualifying Public Bank product. Approved financing must be disbursed by Feb 28, 2027.
The partnership follows strong growth in Malaysian EV sales. Malaysian Automotive Association figures cited by Public Bank show battery-electric vehicle sales reached 26,192 units in the first half of 2026, up 106% from 12,733 units a year earlier. BEVs therefore accounted for about 6.8% of the 385,353 vehicles sold during the six-month period.
Combined xEV sales totalled 51,782 units, up 69%, with hybrids contributing 25,590 units. MAA also raised its full-year xEV sales forecast in July from 100,000 to 120,000 units, equal to about 15% of its revised 800,000-unit total industry volume projection.
Battery-electric vehicles and hybrids are each expected to contribute about 60,000 units.
Paint the Town Green is not a new Public Bank initiative. The bank had worked with Stellantis Malaysia under the campaign in 2025, when preferential financing was offered for the Leapmotor C10.
iCaur, a new-energy vehicle brand under Chery Group, launched the iCaur 03 in Malaysia in September 2025. The boxy electric SUV was followed by the V23 in November, giving the marque two battery-electric models with a retro-influenced design theme.
The brand said in April that 1,800 iCaur vehicles were on Malaysian roads by mid-March 2026. It also reported 179 V23 registrations in February, while the iCaur 03 ranked seventh among EV models nationwide that month. The 03 recorded 836 registrations in its first four months on sale in 2025
