Jetour Auto Malaysia has launched the T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid SUV at RM162,800, adding the first electrified variant to the local T2 line-up.

The single-variant model is priced below the RM168,888 estimate announced when bookings opened in June. It is RM6,000 more expensive than the petrol-powered T2, which starts at RM156,800. Jetour said it had collected 2,137 bookings by Sept 17.

The T2 i-DM combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine with a dual-motor electric system integrated into a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission.  Combined system output is rated at 360 PS, equivalent to 265 kW, and 610 Nm.

Drive goes to the front wheels, while the petrol T2 uses Jetour’s XWD all-wheel-drive system.

An 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supports a claimed electric-only range of more than 100 km. Jetour also claims a combined petrol-and-electric range of up to 1,200 km, although it has not disclosed the test cycles used for either figure.

A 30% to 80% top-up on DC power is quoted at 27 minutes, with the charging rate capped at 57 kW. On a 6.6 kW AC connection, Jetour says reaching full charge from 30% takes less than three hours. The battery can also supply external equipment through a 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load function.

Standard equipment includes a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, a 50W wireless phone charger and power-adjustable front seats. The PHEV also receives an illuminated crystal gear selector.

Safety equipment includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera system and a Level 2 driver-assistance package.

The T2 i-DM retains the square-edged styling of the petrol T2 and rides on 20-inch alloy wheels. Highway Grey Matte is the only exterior colour available at launch.

Early buyers receive a V2L adaptor plus a choice of either RM2,000 in ChargeSini credits or a 7 kW home wallbox with installation. Jetour values the package at up to RM3,000 and limits it to registrations completed by Feb 28, 2027 or the first 2,000 units, whichever comes earlier.

Warranty coverage comprises seven years or 150,000 km for the vehicle, eight years or 160,000 km for the high-voltage battery and 10 years or one million kilometres for the engine, whichever comes first. Five complimentary services are also included.
