Longbow, the pioneering British electric sportscar company, has unveiled the Aesthetic Dynamic Demonstrator of its first Featherweight Electric Vehicle (FEV), the Speedster.
The London debut marks what the start-up calls an industry first: a move from sketch to road in six months under its “Speed of Lightness” development mantra.
Customers, dubbed Guild members, joined VIPs and collaborators for the unveiling.
Longbow said its rapid programme reflects more than 15 years of EV experience among the founders and a decision to compress, not skip, the usual milestones.
The company claims traditional carmakers would take about 18 months for a comparable phase.
First customer deliveries are targeted for 2026, with all models designed, engineered and hand-built in the UK.
Positioned as a modern, driver-focused British lightweight, the Speedster sets out to establish a new FEV category.
It weighs just 895kg, sprints from 0–100kph in 3.5 seconds and delivers a WLTP range of 442km.
Pricing starts at £84,995 (RM469,000) including VAT. A closed-top Roadster will follow, starting from £64,995 (RM359,000).
The Speedster has a bespoke aluminium chassis engineered for high stiffness and minimal mass.
A compact electric motor is paired with “module-to-chassis” battery technology that integrates the pack into the structure.
Longbow said the Speedster is the world’s first featherweight all-electric sportscar built for modern enthusiasts.
Design cues play on “duality”.
A two-tone paint scheme and a silhouette that nods to classic British roadsters at the front are matched to a contemporary EV rear treatment.
The firm pitches the car as a spiritual successor to icons such as the Lotus Elise and Jaguar E-Type, with accessible performance and hand-finished detailing.
Early customer reaction has been positive, according to co-founder and chief executive Daniel Davey.
“We’ve managed to deliver a Dynamic Demonstrator in just six months. No truer illustration of our Speed of Lightness approach,” he said.
Reservations for the limited-run Speedster and the forthcoming Roadster are open now.
