iCaur Malaysia has started local assembly of the V23 electric SUV, with the first units due at authorised dealer showrooms by the end of July.

The completely knocked-down (CKD) model is available only in Intelligent Wheel Drive form.

It is priced at RM132,780 on the road without insurance and retains the equipment and mechanical specification of the fully imported version.

The figure is RM200 below the imported V23 iWD’s 2026 on-road price of RM132,980, which included RM180 in electric-vehicle road tax. When launched in November 2025, the imported model cost RM132,800 before the road tax took effect.

Power comes from two electric motors producing a combined 155 kW and 292 Nm. The all-wheel-drive V23 accelerates from 0–100kph in 7.5 seconds and has a 140kph top speed.

Its 81.76 kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery provides a claimed 430km range under the NEDC standard (estimated WLTP range of 366km). AC charging is limited to 6.6 kW, while the maximum DC charging rate is 104 kW.

Standard equipment includes 21-inch wheels, powered and ventilated front seats, a 15.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an NFC key card and a seven-speaker audio system. Physical switches remain below the dashboard air vents for frequently used functions.

The V23 also comes with six airbags, a 540-degree camera system and a 12-function driver-assistance package. Its off-road figures include 210 mm of ground clearance, a 600 mm wading depth, a 42-degree approach angle and a 41-degree departure angle.

Local production began this month at the Chery Corporate Malaysia plant in Shah Alam, where the V23 is assembled alongside other Chery Group models.

iCaur Malaysia senior director Francis Chin said assembly in Malaysia would allow the company to respond more quickly to demand and give dealers greater certainty over supply.

iCaur said it ranked among Malaysia’s three leading battery-electric vehicle brands during first-half 2026. Road Transport Department data groups its vehicles under Chery, which placed third with 2,649 EV registrations. The V23 accounted for 1,651 units, making it the fifth most-registered EV model during the period.

Warranty coverage remains at seven years or 150,000 km for the vehicle and eight years or 160,000 km for the battery and electric drive components. A battery replacement is promised if its state of health falls below 70% within the warranty period.

Six exterior colours are offered, including Army Green, Off-Road Orange, Khaki White and Gravel Grey. Customer test drives are available this month.
