Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed the Spectre Soulmate, an electric car built specially for a couple born in Malaysia.

What better time than to announce the special car on Valentine’s Day?

The car incorporates personal details significant to the couple’s shared life, including the fact that both were born in the same hospital just three days apart.

The driver’s side air vent bears the date marking the beginning of their life together, while the passenger-side vent displays the commission date and the coordinates of the Rolls-Royce headquarters at Goodwood, England.

A Bespoke Starlight Headliner features an embroidered depiction of the Kuala Lumpur night sky as it appeared on the day their lives began, with running-stitch embroidery outlining key constellations. The vehicle also includes illuminated treadplates that bear the couple’s names — his on the driver’s side and hers on the passenger’s.

The Spectre Soulmate’s exterior is finished in a two-tone Dark Emerald, with the upper section in Black. A single hand-painted Seashell coachline, chosen by the couple’s daughter, adds a further personal detail to the design.

This bespoke project represented the fulfilment of a 45-year ambition for the clients, who first developed an admiration for Rolls-Royce at the age of 10 after corresponding with the company’s chief executive.

The Spectre Soulmate is the latest example of Rolls-Royce’s bespoke programme, which allows clients to incorporate personal elements into the design of their vehicle.

The car’s development was based on detailed consultations with the couple, ensuring that every feature reflected important moments from their lives.

The Spectre, launched in Malaysia in September 2023, is Rolls-Royce’s first electric car. Priced at RM2mil (before taxes and options), the all-wheel drive coupe has a range of over 500km (WLTP).

System output from the twin electric motors is 585PS/577hp and 900Nm of torque, enabling the 2,890 kg to go from 0-100kph in 4.5s.
