The higher-spec BYD Atto 3 Premium is temporarily cheaper than the Ultra in Malaysia, following a RM14,000 Merdeka reduction that brings its price to RM124,800.
Its normal price is RM138,800, while the front-wheel-drive Ultra lists at RM125,800. The offer therefore puts the more powerful Premium RM1,000 below the Ultra before any separate promotions applicable to the latter are taken into account.
The promotion coincides with the introduction of Gemilang Blue, a new Premium-only colour tied to BYD’s National Day campaign. It expands the Atto 3 palette from four colours to five; the existing choices are Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey and Cosmos Black.
Gemilang Blue is not a limited-production colour.
Gemilang Blue closely matches the Iris Blue offered on the Atto 3 Evo overseas, though BYD Malaysia has not confirmed that it is the same paint under a local name.
There are no mechanical changes accompanying the new paint.
The Premium remains the rear-wheel-drive version of the 2026 Atto 3, with a 230kW motor producing 380Nm. It reaches 100kph in 5.5 seconds and uses a 74.88kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate battery, for which BYD Malaysia quotes 600km on the NEDC cycle.
The Ultra sends 150kW and 310Nm to the front wheels and uses a smaller 60.48kWh battery with a claimed 480km NEDC range.
Malaysia was the first Asia-Pacific market to receive the 2026 Atto 3 when the facelift arrived in June. The update substantially widened the gap between its two variants, with the Premium switching to rear-wheel drive and gaining the larger battery, stronger performance and additional equipment.
BYD said at launch that more than 12,000 Atto 3s had been sold in Malaysia since the model first arrived in December 2022.
