Hap Seng Trucks Distribution (HSTD), the authorised distributor of Mercedes-Benz Vans in Malaysia, has officially unveiled the refreshed Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 in Avantgarde specification.

This marks the first reveal of the all-electric MPV under HSTD’s management and introduces the latest iteration of Mercedes-Benz’s premium electric people carrier to the local market.

The EQV 300 supports Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and is now available for private and corporate registration from an indicative price of RM450,000 (on-the-road, without insurance).

An introductory package includes a complimentary Mercedes-Benz Wallbox charger, three years of scheduled maintenance, and a RM10,000 booking rebate.

Warranty coverage includes two years or 200,000km for the vehicle and eight years or 160,000km for the high-voltage battery.

The W447 EQV is powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 150kW (201hp) and 365Nm of torque.

It is equipped with a 90kWh usable lithium-ion battery, offering an electric driving range of up to 418km, according to the outdated NEDC cycle still cited by Mercedes-Benz. Expect real-world range of only 330km if using the WLTP standard as widely used in Europe.

Charging options include AC at up to 11kW and DC fast-charging at up to 110kW, allowing a 10–80% charge in about 40 minutes.

The EQV has a top speed of 160kph and offers four driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Eco, and Maximum Range (ECO+).

Externally, the Avantgarde trim features Multibeam LED headlights, chrome rear trim with Mercedes-Benz lettering, and new 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the EQV 300 seats seven people in a 2+2+3 layout. The cabin includes dual 12.3-inch widescreens, redesigned air vents, capacitive-touch steering controls, and 64-colour ambient lighting. It also features Lugano leather upholstery, powered sliding doors on both sides, and a Burmester surround sound system delivering 640 W through 15 speakers.

Safety features include Active Brake Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Active Distance Assist Distronic, Tyre Pressure Monitoring, Attention Assist, and multiple airbags, including thorax-pelvis, centre, and curtain airbags.

A Parking Package with 360° camera and Active Parking Assist is also included.

HSTD will host a pop-up roadshow at Bangsar Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur, from July 21-27, where visitors can view the EQV 300 and seek more information from product experts.

Prior to the arrival of the facelifted model, the pre-facelifted EQV was only available from gray importers.
