Proton New Energy Technology (Pro-NET) has launched “e.MAS Impianku”, a nationwide competition inviting Malaysians to use artificial intelligence (AI) to design their dream Proton electric vehicle.

Running until Nov 30, the contest allows participants to create their own EV concepts using any generative AI platform, with winning designs turned into personalised 3D-printed models.

Open to Malaysian residents aged 18 and above, the competition has two categories: general public and university students.

Participants can visit protonemasimpianku.com, use the suggested AI prompt as a starting point, customise their designs and upload the finished images.

In the open category, eligible entries will be displayed in an online gallery for public voting from Dec 5 to 13.

The 20 designs receiving the most votes will proceed to final judging. Eight winners will receive 3D-printed collectibles based on their creations.

Three grand prize winners will each get an approximately 10-inch model, while five others will receive miniature versions.

The university category is open to students aged 18 and above at recognised Malaysian higher education institutions.

Winners will be selected by judges without public voting. Cash prizes of RM1,000, RM600 and RM400 are offered, along with 12 consolation prizes comprising Proton e.MAS merchandise.

Participants may submit multiple original AI-generated designs but can enter only one category.

Entries close at 11.59pm on Nov 30, with winners scheduled to be announced in January 2027.

Pro-NET stressed that submitted designs are conceptual and do not represent confirmed future Proton e.MAS production models.
