Smart Malaysia has opened two new dealerships to improve access to electric vehicles in the country.
The new outlets, HK Electra – smart Kuantan in Pahang and Ghee Hua – smart Kuching in Sarawak, will offer both smart vehicles and the Proton e.MAS lineup, which currently is limited to the e.MAS 7.
The expansion comes as part of a broader strategy to meet rising consumer demand for premium electric vehicles. With a total of 11 dealerships across Malaysia, smart Malaysia is aiming to enhance its service network and customer experience.
HK Electra – smart Kuantan, located at No 6, Jalan Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, has evolved from a Proton 2S outlet to a full 4S centre since 2018.
The centre now features a 695m² showroom, four display areas and six EV chargers, including two 120kW DC fast chargers. Sales of Proton vehicles at the centre increased from 1,071 units in 2021 to 1,623 units in 2024.
Ghee Hua – smart Kuching, operated by Ghee Hua Co. Sdn Bhd and based at Lot 136-137, Jalan Abell, Kuching, is marking the brand’s entry into East Malaysia’s electric vehicle market. The dealership will retail both smart and Proton e.MAS models, aligning with Proton’s efforts to advance into the premium EV segment.
A promotional campaign offering savings on select models is also being held during February.
Customers can now enjoy instant 10% savings, with up to RM31,000 in value for smart #1 and smart #3, a free smartCharge Home Charger with standard installation, RM1,000 worth of charging credits, and exclusive corporate benefits.
