Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has previewed the new all-electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé ahead of its expected local introduction in 2027.
The car shown in Malaysia was a left-hand-drive GT 55, but the Malaysian market is expected to receive the more powerful GT 63, with indicative pricing from RM1.29 million. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has also opened registration of interest for the model.
Built on the dedicated AMG.EA electric architecture, the GT 63 uses three axial-flux motors — one at the front and two at the rear — producing up to 860 kW, or 1,169 PS, and 2,000 Nm. Mercedes-Benz quotes a 0-100 kph time of 2.4 seconds.
Energy comes from a 106 kWh high-performance battery with direct cell cooling. The GT 63 has a WLTP range of up to 696 km, while its 800-volt electrical system supports DC charging at up to 350 kW. A 10-80% charge is claimed to take 16 minutes.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s website now lists the electric GT 4-Door Coupé as “available soon” and highlights a range of around 700 km together with the three-motor drivetrain.
The second-generation model represents a major departure from its predecessor, moving from combustion and plug-in hybrid power to a dedicated EV platform while retaining the four-door fastback format.
At the preview of the GT55, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also announced the launch of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro 4Matic+ Coupé. The two-door model uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 612 PS and 850 Nm, with 0-100 kph in 3.2 seconds and a 317 kph top speed. Estimated pricing starts from RM2,088,888.
