Xiaomi Auto has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with eight German dealer groups as it prepares to enter European markets in 2027.
The agreements were signed at the IFA Berlin tech trade show and marked the first step in building Xiaomi’s European sales and after-sales network. Germany will be among the markets included in the company’s planned European expansion next year.
The eight groups are Ernst Dello GmbH & Co. KG, Autohaus Dinnebier GmbH, Emil Frey Germany, Fett & Wirtz Automobile GmbH & Co. KG, Hahn Automobile GmbH + Co. KG, LUEG Mobility GmbH, Penske-Jacobs Innovation GmbH and SPT Avior SE & Co. KG.
Xiaomi said the companies bring experience in German and European automotive retail, including the sale and servicing of premium vehicles. More dealer partners are expected to be added as preparations for the European launch continue.
Xiaomi Auto vice-president and head of international business Yu Liguo said local partnerships would form an important part of its European operations. The company already operates a European research and development centre in Munich.
Xiaomi’s European move comes little more than three years after it began delivering cars in China. The company says cumulative deliveries have exceeded 700,000 units since its first electric vehicle reached customers in 2024.
Its official global automotive website now states that Xiaomi Auto is coming to Europe in 2027 and includes a dedicated channel for prospective dealers and distributors.
Xiaomi has yet to announce which models will lead its European launch, or disclose local pricing and detailed market roll-out plans.
The company currently sells electric vehicles including the SU7 saloon and YU7 SUV in China. Its move into Europe will take Xiaomi Auto beyond its home market for the first time and put the technology group into direct competition with established European and Chinese EV brands.
