SAIC Motor Malaysia will officially introduce the locally assembled MG ZS in late October, with two variants priced provisionally from RM105,000.

The B-segment SUV, previewed at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026, will be offered as the MG ZS 1.5 Turbo and MG ZS Hybrid+, with estimated prices of RM105,000 and RM115,000 respectively. Both prices exclude insurance in Peninsular Malaysia.

The ZS Hybrid+ combines a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 100kW electric motor and a 1.83kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery.

MG quotes combined outputs of 215PS and 465Nm, delivered through a dedicated three-speed hybrid transmission.

Unlike a plug-in hybrid, the ZS Hybrid+ does not require external charging. Its hybrid system supports electric-only driving at speeds of up to 80kph under suitable conditions.

The Hybrid+ accelerates from 0–100kph in 8.7 seconds, with claimed fuel consumption of 4.7 litres/100km and a driving range of up to 870km from its 41-litre fuel tank.

The petrol-powered ZS 1.5 Turbo produces 170PS and 275Nm from its 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) driving the front wheels.

Fuel consumption is rated at 6.9 litres/100km, with a 55-litre fuel tank.

Measuring 4,430mm long and 1,818mm wide, the MG ZS offers 443 litres of luggage capacity, expanding to 1,457 litres with the rear seats folded.

Interior equipment includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a similarly sized digital instrument display, panoramic sunroof and leatherette upholstery.

The SUV also features MG PILOT driver assistance technology, including Intelligent Cruise Assist and driver fatigue monitoring. MG iSMART connectivity enables remote access to selected vehicle functions through a smartphone.

Four exterior colours will be available: Flare Red, Silver, Andes Grey and York White.

For the first 1,000 customers who book, MG is offering early-bird benefits worth RM3,000 and five years of complimentary maintenance.

Bookings are open through MG Malaysia’s official website, while the ZS Hybrid+ will be displayed at Nexus Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, from Oct 19 to 23.
