Porsche has made its 11 kW wireless charging system available to order for the Cayenne Electric in Germany and other European markets, with a wider rollout planned in stages.
The system removes the need to plug in a charging cable. Drivers park the Cayenne Electric over a permanently installed ground pad and charging starts automatically. Porsche said energy is transferred at up to 11 kW with efficiency of about 90%.
Porsche first previewed wireless charging for the Cayenne Electric in 2025; the latest update moves it into the options list.
The hardware comprises preparation in the vehicle, a vehicle pad and a weatherproof ground pad that can also be installed outdoors. Motion sensors and foreign-object detection are built in. Charging stops if a person or animal enters the area, or if a metallic object on the pad begins to heat up.
Porsche said the system is planned for countries with Porsche Connect, excluding China.
The Cayenne Electric is also joining Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s Paint to Sample programme. Buyers now have 92 additional colours on top of 13 standard shades, taking the total to 105.
For the new model year, Porsche is also offering electrically operated doors for the Cayenne Electric. Servo motors open or close all four doors after a brief pull on the handle. Controls are also provided in the cabin, through the Porsche Communication Management system and via Porsche Digital Key.
The driver’s door can close automatically when the seat belt is fastened or the brake pedal is pressed. Sensors stop the doors if a person or obstacle is detected, while the exit warning system can prevent a door from opening when another vehicle is approaching. Manual operation remains possible.
A new front-seat massage system adds 4D audio to the mix. Each front seat uses 16 air cushions and six sound actuators in the backrest and seat cushion. Five massage programmes are available, with adjustable vibration intensity. Three Wellness Mood Modes combine massage, vibration and sound, while the 4D audio function can also be used separately.
Inside, an Extended Package Interior Style adds more leather trim and decorative stitching in Delgada Green. Further options include leather/Race-Tex seat consoles and Race-Tex-covered sill trim panels with coloured stitching.
The updates apply to both the Cayenne Electric SUV and Cayenne Coupé Electric, widening the choice of comfort, charging and personalisation options for Porsche’s battery-electric SUV range.
