BYD Mansion Macalister Penang has received a gold award at the REKA Awards 2026 for its interior design and restoration of a century-old building in George Town.
The project won in the Interior Builders: Medium Projects category, with the award going to Eddex Concept Sdn Bhd, the company responsible for the showroom’s interior works.
Organised by the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers, the awards recognise achievements in interior design and construction.
The BYD showroom combines the building’s historic architecture with contemporary facilities, including dedicated consultation lounges, digital touchpoints and personalised customer areas.
Its glass façade complements the heritage-inspired architecture, while the interior has been adapted for modern automotive retail.
