Leapmotor has launched the D99 in China, adding a large electric MPV to its higher-end D-series line-up.
Leapmotor China lists the D99 as its flagship MPV, with a seven-seat cabin, long wheelbase and a choice of extended-range or full-electric powertrains. It sits alongside the D19 SUV, with both models developed on Leapmotor’s D platform.
State-linked Chinese financial newspaper Securities Times reported that the D99 is priced from 249,800 yuan to 319,800 yuan (around RM152,000 to RM195,000). Deliveries are expected to begin from July 20.
The D99 measures 5,280mm long, 1,995mm wide and either 1,900mm or 1,880mm tall, depending on suspension specification, with a 3,110mm wheelbase.
That makes it a large three-row model aimed at China’s family and business MPV market, where rear-seat comfort has become a major selling point.
The EREV uses an 800V platform, a dual-motor all-wheel-drive extended-range system and an 80.3kWh battery, with a CLTC electric-only range of 480km.
The BEV uses a 1,000V electric architecture and a 115kWh CATL NCM-LFP battery, with CLTC range of up to 700km.
Equipment includes second-row zero-gravity seats that rotate, a large rear table, a rear entertainment screen, multiple storage areas and advanced driver assistance hardware.
The D99 pushes Leapmotor further into China’s premium family-car market, where large electrified MPVs have become one of the busiest battlegrounds.
