BMW Group Malaysia today revealed the facelifted iX alongside a new locally assembled X5.
Two version of the iX were introduced: the iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro and iX xDrive45 Sport.
Both models will reach authorised dealerships from July 25.
The iX xDrive60 sells for RM522,700, while the iX xDrive45 Sport is going for RM460,700. The X5 xDrive40i M Sport is priced at RM508,200. All prices are for the optional 5-year warranty and service.
The standard two-year warranty pricing are RM487,800, RM425,800 and RM469,800 respectively.
iX
Both the iX versions preserve the iX’s characteristic silhouette while adopting refined design elements for a more dynamic appearance.
The signature kidney grille is reimagined with diagonal lines and features BMW Iconic Glow that pulses when doors open or close. Updated adaptive LED headlights incorporate dual angled high-beam elements per side to boost visibility and reduce glare.
All variants benefit from the expanded exterior mirror package. Exclusive to the xDrive60 M Sport Pro is the M Sport Package Pro, which includes diamond-polished 22-inch M aerodynamic wheels in Multicolour 3D polished buff, red Sport brakes and the M Aerodynamics package, while the xDrive45 Sport rides on 21-inch aerodynamic wheels in 1012 Bicolour 3D polished buff to enhance its sporty profile and aerodynamic efficiency.
Inside, both variants maintain the iX’s spacious and light-filled cabin.
Ambient lighting and a Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge contribute to the interior ambience, while multifunctional front seats and Comfort Access feature as standard.
The centrepiece is the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, offering navigation, entertainment and vehicle settings via a fully digital interface, complemented by the 18-speaker, 655-watt Harman Kardon surround-sound system.
BMW IconicSounds Electric provides selectable drive-soundscapes. Practical features include wireless charging, automatic four-zone air conditioning, Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, ConnectedDrive Services, Connected Package Professional and Smartphone Integration.
Performance comes from an all-wheel-drive configuration powered by fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology.
The xDrive60 M Sport Pro variant delivers 400kW/544hp and 765Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100kph sprint in 4.6 seconds, a top speed of 200kph and up to 701km of range on the WLTP cycle, courtesy of its 111.5 kWh gross battery.
A maximum DC charging rate of 195kW allows recovery of 217km of range in 10 minutes, while AC charging is supported at 22kW.
The xDrive45 Sport produces 300kW/408hp and 700Nm, achieves 0–100kph in 5.1 seconds, and reaches 602km of WLTP-rated range from its 100.6 kWh battery. Its DC fast-charging capability has increased to 175kW, restoring 166km of range in 10 minutes.
Both variants feature BMW Digital Key Plus within the Comfort Access system, enabling smartphone-based vehicle sharing with up to 18 digital keys and configurable user limits.
Setup and Service Cards facilitate activation and reversion to physical keys. Driving assistance comprises Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus, delivering camera- and radar-based safety functions and automated parking support.
Both iX versions are offered in exterior shades of Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Arctic Race Blue, Aventurine Red and Dune Grey, with the xDrive45 Sport additionally available in Alpine White and Sophisto Grey.
Interior options include Atelier Oyster, Atelier Mocha and Atelier Black for the xDrive45 Sport, and Interior Design Suites in Amido or Castanea for the xDrive60 M Sport Pro, alongside M Sport upholstery in Black and Atlas Grey.
X5
The X5 xDrive40i M Sport produces 300kW/408hp)and 700Nm, covering 0–100kph in 5.1 seconds.
This version of the X5 debuts Malaysia’s first mild hybrid version in the X5 line-up, following the X5 xDrive50e M Sport PHEV in 2024.
The fourth-generation chassis, introduced in 2018, now features modernised front and rear styling.
A three-dimensional Iconic Glow kidney grille is flanked by slimmed Adaptive LED headlights, while X-shaped daytime-running lights and a sculpted front apron with triangular air intakes convey athletic poise.
Staggered 21-inch M light alloy wheels with V-Spoke design and M Sport brakes enhance its road presence, and three-dimensional rear taillights echo the X motif.
Inside, the X5 has a redesigned cockpit centres, which centres on the Curved Display — combining a 12.3-inch information display and 14.9-inch control display — set above a refined trim strip.
A light bar and touch-sensitive function keys complement the BMW Controller for intuitive operation.
Standard “Sensafin” upholstery in Black, sport seats with electric adjustment and memory, and an M leather steering wheel reinforce a premium, driver-focused ambience.
The centre console adopts a rocker-switch gear selector and a slim console layout, with Harman Kardon audio, panoramic glass roof, four-zone automatic climate control and a wireless charging tray as standard.
The X5 uses a 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line petrol engine with Valvetronic variable valve control and a 48 V mild-hybrid system, producing 280kW/381hp and 540Nm — 35kW/47hp and 70Nm up on its predecessor.
Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, it completes 0–100kph in 5.4 seconds and achieves 250kph top speed.
Its dynamic chassis features double-wishbone front suspension, five-link rear suspension, Dynamic Damper Control and self-levelling two-axle air suspension, which adjusts ride height for sport or off-road use and aids loading.
Advanced driver-assistance and connectivity are standard.
BMW Driving Assistant Professional integrates radar- and camera-based systems for lane and collision protection, while Parking Assistant Professional offers automated parking and Surround View.
The Live Cockpit Professional, powered by Operating System 8.5, supports touch, voice, gesture and Controller input, with self-learning AI to tailor suggestions.
Digital Key Plus extends Comfort Access with up to 18 shareable digital keys, and ConnectedDrive Services ensure over-the-air updates.
