Production of the updated all-electric BMW iX started today at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing.
Since its launch in 2021, the model has seen over 130,000 units sold worldwide. The comprehensive update, scheduled for March 2025, delivers enhanced performance, extended range and a more dynamic design.
The revised iX now offers up to 25% higher drive power, improved efficiency and a range of up to 701km under the WLTP cycle, making it the longest-range electric model in the BMW Group’s portfolio.
The iX xDrive60 achieves an energy consumption of 21.9 kWh per 100km with zero CO2 emissions.
Alongside technical improvements, the new iX introduces the M Sport and M Sport Pro packages, enhancing its sporty appeal both inside and out.
Buyers will also benefit from a range of new exterior colours, including Arctic Race Blue metallic, Dune Grey metallic, Carbon Black metallic, BMW Individual Frozen Deep Grey metallic, BMW Individual Frozen Pure Grey metallic, Tanzanite Blue metallic and Space Silver.
Plant manager Christoph Schröder said the iX has been a key model in ushering in the all-electric era at the Dingolfing plant, which now makes four electric models – the iX, the i7 and the electric versions of the 5 Series sedan and Touring – along with five plug-in hybrids.
The update reinforces the iX’s role in BMW’s strategy for the electric mid-size and upper-class SAV segment ahead of the launch of the “New Class” later in the year.
