GoCar Malaysia and Yinson GreenTech’s drivEV have expanded their partnership to introduce electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing services in Johor Baru (JB).
This initiative offers the GAC Aion Y Plus and Ora Good Cat EVs for booking at strategic locations, catering to residents and Singaporean visitors seeking sustainable travel options.
The program aims to support zero-carbon mobility and enhance connectivity through a collaboration with Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, enabling seamless transfers via Electric Causeway Link buses. EVs are available near major bus drop-off points, including Toppen Shopping Centre.
“The success of our EV-sharing fleet in Klang Valley has proven that zero-emission mobility is not just a vision but a practical and scalable solution for modern urban transport,” said GoCar Malaysia CEO Wong Hoe Mun.
drivEV managing director Kelvin Soon said the partnership’s goal is to provide practical, sustainable mobility solutions, enabling commuters to embrace green transportation.
Car-sharing rates start at RM24.90 per hour or RM199 per day for the Ora Good Cat and RM27.90 per hour or RM279 per day for the Aion Y Plus. A special launch promotion allows users to book the Aion Y Plus for five hours at RM100 using the code “JBJOLT.”
The Aion Y Plus Elite and Ora Good Cat 400 Pro, both 5-seaters, offer ranges of 490km (NEDC)/390km (WLTP) and 400km (NEDC)/320km (WLTP) respectively. The Aion Y Plus charges from 20% to 80% in 45 minutes via DC fast charging, while the Ora Good Cat takes 40 minutes to recharge from 0% to 80%.
drivEV, a division of Yinson GreenTech, focuses on leasing and mobility solutions to promote green transportation.
