Hyundai today introduced the Ioniq 6 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, marking a milestone in the brand’s electrification of its N performance division.
The vehicle debuts Hyundai N’s evolution from electric motorsport —such as Pure ETCR — to a street-legal, track-capable electric saloon.
At the heart of the Ioniq 6 N is Hyundai N’s three-pillar performance philosophy of Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability and Everyday Sportscar, combining track readiness with daily-drive comfort.
Key technical upgrades include fully redesigned suspension geometry, an enhanced N e-Shift virtual gear-shift system to reduce performance loss, and upgraded acoustic hardware with extensive fine-tuning to deliver improved sound quality.
José Muñoz, president and chief executive officer of Hyundai Motor Company, said the Ioniq 6 N “offers high-performance enthusiasts a thrilling new avenue to electrify their passion both on the road and the track.”
The Ioniq 6 N produces 641hp (478 kW) and 770Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100kph sprint in 3.2 seconds using N Launch Control and a governed top speed of 257kph.
Its battery management system, dubbed N Battery, features optimised temperature control and a higher-capacity coolant heater to minimise conditioning time before track use. The system adapts to varied driving scenarios, from drag to endurance racing, to maintain peak performance.
Aerodynamic refinement includes a swan-neck rear wing and widened wheel arches for increased downforce and stability at speed. The model is offered in Performance Blue Pearl, a new pearl-finish shade of Hyundai N’s signature blue.
Structurally, the chassis has been reengineered with a lowered roll centre and revised suspension geometry for enhanced high-speed stability and lateral grip.
Electronically Controlled Suspension dampers with stroke sensing allow rapid adjustment of damping forces across everyday and track conditions.
Manfred Harrer, executive vice-president and head of vehicle development tech unit at Hyundai Motor Company, described the Ioniq 6 N as combining “formidable power, sophisticated battery management, aerodynamic mastery and advanced suspension systems.”
The Ioniq 6 N also introduces advanced vehicle control software.
N Active Sound + delivers a dynamic acoustic experience via a stereo sound source and an Acoustic Design Processor.
Drivers may select from “Ignition”, a motorsport motif; “Evolution”, an EV heritage tone; and “Lightspeed”, a futuristic soundscape.
The N e-Shift feature, now fully integrated with N Launch Control, N Drift Optimizer, N Grin Boost and N Torque Distribution, enhances responsiveness through simulated close-ratio shifts. An N Ambient Shift Light provides interior visual cues for ideal shift points.
For track data analysis, N Track Manager enables custom-track creation, real-time ghost-car overlay and lap-time review.
The N Drift Optimizer offers adjustable settings for drift initiation, angle and wheel spin, allowing drivers to tailor drift performance.
A selection of N performance parts, developed from Hyundai N’s motorsport heritage, will be available for customers wishing to personalise handling and styling.
At Goodwood, Hyundai N’s display is positioned beside the Hillclimb course, complete with an exclusive grandstand.
An interactive stamp tour invites visitors to explore the Ioniq 6 N alongside Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 5 N TA Spec models, culminating in special event giveaways.
The Hillclimb lineup features vehicles from the ’14 WRC Rally 1 to the Ioniq 6 N Drift Spec, showcasing the breadth of Hyundai N’s performance range.
A synchronised “N Moment” demonstration run is scheduled today, spotlighting the full Hyundai N electrified fleet.
