Stellantis has appointed Sandeep Bhambra to lead design at Citroën and DS Automobiles, effective Nov 2, as part of a wider reshuffle of its European design leadership.
Bhambra succeeds Pierre Leclercq at Citroën and Thierry Metroz at DS Automobiles. He reports to Stellantis European brands design chief Gilles Vidal and joins the management teams of both brands, headed by CEO Xavier Chardon.
Leclercq moves to Opel and Vauxhall as design chief, replacing Mark Adams, who is retiring after nearly 25 years with the brands. Metroz takes on a European design strategy role supporting Vidal.
Bhambra joined Stellantis in April 2026 as vice-president of design strategy for Europe, following five years at Renault Group.
At Renault, he oversaw advanced design and concept projects including the Scénic Vision, Emblème, Twingo 4 and R5 Turbo 3E.
His earlier career included more than a decade at Peugeot, where he contributed to the second-generation 2008 and 5008, the Onyx concept and development work on the Citroën Ami electric quadricycle.
Bhambra began his automotive career at Mahindra & Mahindra in 2003 before working at Tata Technologies and Tata Motors.
