Sime Darby Auto Performance has officially introduced the new Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé in Malaysia, priced from RM 728,000. This sporty SUV is the second locally assembled Porsche model and the first built in Malaysia for regional export, following its debut in Thailand.
The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé comes in Carrara White Metallic, Chromite Black Metallic, and Dolomite Silver Metallic as standard colour options, paired with 20-inch Cayenne S Design wheels in Vesuvius Grey. Standard HD Matrix LED headlights with over 32,000 pixels enhance safety and visibility.
Inside, the cabin features premium elements such as a GT Sports steering wheel, Sport Chrono package, BOSE Surround Sound System, and smooth-finish leather upholstery in either Black or Bordeaux Red.
Additional amenities include four-zone climate control, 14-way adjustable seats, electric rear sunblinds, and an air quality ioniser. The new Porsche Driver Experience integrates a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen, with the automatic gear selector repositioned on the dashboard.
The SUV’s hybrid system combines a 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine with an upgraded electric motor, delivering a total output of 382 kW (519 PS). It can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 263kph. Its electric-only range of up to 90km is suitable for daily urban commutes.
Porsche also equips the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé with standard adaptive air suspension featuring Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with two-chamber, two-valve technology. This system enhances comfort, handling, and driving precision across Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus modes, offering smoother body control on and off the road.
According to Sime Darby Auto Performance chief executive officer Christopher Hunter, over 1,000 locally assembled Cayennes were delivered within a year of setting up the assembly plant in 2022. He said the new model reflects Porsche’s growing regional footprint and its goal to expand hybrid offerings.
