BYD’s premium brand Denza has formally signalled its entry into India, publishing an “Arriving soon” teaser through its new India social-media channels.
Denza India said the brand was coming to the market with a “sophisticated, high-performance EV experience”, but stopped short of announcing a launch date, prices, bookings or its initial model line-up.
Indian reports expect the first models to include the Denza Z9 GT shooting brake and D9 luxury MPV, although neither has been confirmed in the official teaser.
Autocar India previously reported that Denza would enter the market with the two models and position itself above BYD’s existing passenger-car range.
Denza dates back to 2010, when BYD and Mercedes-Benz created the marque as a jointly owned electrified-vehicle venture. BYD became its sole owner in 2024.
Its current range spans battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The portfolio includes the D9 MPV and Z9 GT, alongside SUV models in other markets.
The India announcement extends Denza’s push beyond China as BYD develops the marque as a separate premium proposition in overseas markets.
