Škoda has started series production of the Peaq at its main Mladá Boleslav plant in the Czech Republic, less than two months after launching the seven-seat electric SUV.

Almost 8,500 orders had been placed by the end of July, according to Škoda. The Peaq went on sale in June and now becomes the fourth model assembled on the same production line as the electric Enyaq and Elroq, plus the combustion-engine Octavia Combi.

That mixed production arrangement allows Škoda to alter output according to demand. The line was originally designed for combustion-engine cars before being adapted for EV production, beginning with the Enyaq in 2020. The Elroq followed in January 2025.

More Octavia Combi production was shifted to Škoda’s Kvasiny plant in May, where it is built alongside the Octavia liftback. The move freed capacity at Mladá Boleslav for EVs, which accounted for almost 23% of Škoda vehicles produced at its Czech factories in the first half of 2026.

Accommodating the Peaq required further changes. At 4.87 metres long, with a wheelbase of almost three metres, it is Škoda’s largest SUV and the biggest vehicle produced by the company since it joined Volkswagen Group.

Larger production skids were installed, while a new manipulator handles installation of the third-row seats. Škoda also modified sections of the press, body and paint shops. Chief production officer Andreas Dick said building three EVs and the Octavia on one line demonstrated the plant’s flexibility after the latest modifications.

The Peaq uses Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ electric architecture and comes with 63kWh or 91kWh gross-capacity batteries, both assembled in Mladá Boleslav. Net capacities are 59kWh and 86kWh respectively.

Three versions are offered. The rear-wheel-drive Peaq 60 produces 150kW, while the Peaq 90 develops 210kW. The all-wheel-drive Peaq 90x tops the range at 220kW.

Škoda quotes more than 640km of range for the Peaq 90 and more than 610km for the 90x. The 91kWh unit is the largest battery yet fitted to a Škoda EV.

The Peaq also introduces flush door handles, a panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control and bidirectional charging to the brand.

It joins the smaller Epiq, which entered production in Pamplona, Spain, in June. Together, the two models double Škoda’s battery-electric range in 2026.

Škoda was Europe’s second-best-selling car brand in the first half of 2026, with 457,663 registrations across the EU27 plus four markets.
