Geely’s small electric hatchback is being lined up for Europe under a new badge, with the E2 now listed by Geely Auto Europe as a coming model.
The E2 is the European-market version of the Geely Xingyuan family, which is also sold in several export markets as the EX2.
For Malaysia, the connection is obvious: the Proton e.MAS 5 is the local twin of the same Geely small-EV programme.
Geely Auto Europe is not giving full launch details yet, but its official model page describes the E2 as a compact electric hatchback with chassis tuning for European roads, a 70-litre front boot, flexible rear storage, 36 safety features and Geely’s Shendun battery safety system.
Pre-launch figures point to a rear-wheel-drive layout using an 85kW motor. The battery is expected to be a 39.4kWh unit, with WLTP range listed at up to 317km and 0–100kph taking 10.2 seconds. Final homologated European figures have not been confirmed.
Britain will use a different name. Geely Auto UK has already listed the right-hand-drive car as the EX2, with up to 344km of WLTP range for the Max and Ultra variants.
The car arrives with strong credentials. Geely said the EX2 was China’s best-selling model across all segments in 2025, with 465,775 units sold and 500,000 cumulative deliveries reached in 14 months.
