Customer deliveries of the locally assembled XPeng G6 have started in Malaysia, with the first batch handed over to owners at Kuala Lumpur Tower on Sept 5.
The handover comes after production of the electric SUV began at EP Manufacturing Bhd’s facility in Melaka earlier this year.
Bermaz XPeng had previously targeted August for the start of deliveries when it opened bookings for the CKD G6 in July.
Prices remain unchanged from the fully imported version, starting at RM158,888 for the rear-wheel-drive Standard Range.
The RWD Long Range costs RM178,888, while the range-topping AWD Performance is priced at RM189,888.
The Standard Range uses a 68.5kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a rear-mounted motor producing 185kW and 440Nm. Its WLTP range is 480km.
The Long Range gets an 80.8kWh battery, with its rear motor producing 218kW and 440Nm. It offers up to 525km of WLTP range.
The AWD Performance also uses the 80.8kWh battery but adds a second motor for a combined 358kW and 660Nm. It has a WLTP range of 510km and can sprint from zero to 100kph in 4.13 seconds.
All three variants use an 800V electrical architecture. XPeng says charging from 10% to 80% can be completed in 12 minutes with a sufficiently powerful DC charger.
The CKD G6 also retains XPilot Assist, which includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane centring control and autonomous parking assistance.
When announcing the locally assembled model in July, Bermaz XPeng said local production would retain the G6’s core strengths in technology, efficiency and intelligent performance.
A limited-time ownership package announced then included a complimentary wallbox charger worth RM5,000 and up to RM5,000 in insurance support.
Bermaz XPeng also confirmed that customer deliveries of the updated XPeng X9 have started nationwide.
Launched in Malaysia in June, the facelifted electric MPV is priced from RM279,888 and offers up to 615km of WLTP range, with DC charging at up to 542kW.
The X9 is currently supplied as a fully imported model, although it was also included in XPeng’s previously announced local assembly programme with EPMB in Melaka.
