Weststar Maxus and Yinson GreenTech have signed a strategic agreement for 300 Maxus eDeliver 5 electric panel vans, with the vehicles set to support driveEV’s leasing and fleet operations.
The deal was announced at KLIMS 2026, but the eDeliver 5 was not presented as a typical new retail launch. It was the fleet-deal vehicle — the van named in Yinson GreenTech’s procurement plan for its driveEV business.
Under the agreement, driveEV will procure 300 units of the fully electric eDeliver 5. The van is aimed at logistics and transport operators that want to cut tailpipe emissions without buying their own electric vehicles outright.
The press material describes the eDeliver 5 as a fully electric commercial van for logistics work, with driver assistance features including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Keeping Assist.
The official Weststar Maxus spec sheet gives the harder numbers. The eDeliver 5 uses a 64kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with a WLTP combined range of 335km and a WLTP city range of 489km. Payload is listed at 1,200kg, while DC charging is rated at 10% to 80% in 42 minutes at 70kW. AC charging from 5% to 100% takes 7.5 hours at 11kW.
The van is front-wheel drive, powered by a 120kW motor producing 240Nm. The listed 0-100kph time is 10.7 seconds, with a top speed of 120kph. It measures 4,800mm long, 1,874mm wide and 1,960mm tall, with a 3,100mm wheelbase and 6.6 cubic metres of cargo volume.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, SAIC Maxus general manager Yang Huaijing, Weststar Group managing director Tan Sri Dr Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim and Yinson Holdings group executive chairman Lim Han Weng.
Representing the signing parties were Julius Jonathan Netto, chief operating officer of Weststar’s automotive division, and Kelvin Soon, managing director of EV charging and leasing at Yinson GreenTech.
Weststar Maxus also used KLIMS 2026 to show a wider line-up, with the eDeliver 5 joined by pickups and a passenger van.
The Maxus eTerron 9 was the electric pickup of the group. Weststar’s material listed a 102.2kWh battery, dual-motor all-wheel drive and up to 430km of WLTC driving range. It gives Maxus an electric 4×4 angle beyond vans, aimed at buyers who want pickup utility without a diesel engine.
The Terron 9 diesel covered the other side of the pickup market. It uses a 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine with up to 520Nm of torque, and was described as a high-performance pickup with off-road driving modes and intelligent driver assistance systems.
The T60 was shown as the familiar working-truck option in the range. Weststar’s material describes it as a facelifted diesel pickup using a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine producing 120kW and 375Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 capability.
Weststar Maxus announced prices from RM145,888 for the Terron 9, RM228,888 for the eTerron 9 and RM89,888 for the T60. A KLIMS promotional offer knocks RM5,000 off the three models to RM140,888, RM223,888 and RM84,888 respectively.
The V90 Window Van was the people-moving entry. It uses a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with a six-speed automatic transmission and can be configured with up to 15 seats, aimed at corporate transport, tourism, airport transfer and fleet operators that need a larger passenger van.
Weststar Maxus also opened KLIMS bookings for the V90, but no official show price was revealed. Dealer postings listed the V90 Panel Van at RM148,888 and the V90 Window Van at RM164,888.
