Huawei-backed Maextro has launched the V800 in China from 766,000 yuan (RM465,000), undercutting its earlier 800,000-yuan (RM485,000) pre-sale floor.
The V800 is the first MPV from Maextro, the ultra-luxury vehicle brand jointly developed by Huawei and JAC.
Three variants are priced at 766,000 yuan, 866,000 yuan and 1.016 million yuan (RM465,000, RM525,000 and RM616,000 respectively).
Initial V800 deliveries are scheduled for early September, with the remaining versions due later in the month.
The V800 was first shown in June alongside the smaller V680. Today’s launch confirmed its final prices, variant line-up and delivery timetable.
Huawei consumer business chairman Richard Yu said in July that combined V800 and V680 orders had passed 10,000 units after 23 days. The larger V800 accounted for about 80% of the total.
At 5,495mm long, 2,006mm wide and 1,850mm tall, the V800 is nearly 5.5 metres from nose to tail. Its wheelbase measures 3,430mm.
The three-row cabin has a claimed 758-litre luggage area, rising to a maximum of 2,713 litres when the rear seating is reconfigured.
Second-row passengers receive most of the attention. Announced equipment includes lounge-style seats, a 41.6-inch retractable projection screen, powered privacy curtains and switchable privacy glass for the second and third rows. An optional private drinks bar was also shown.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre petrol range extender and front and rear electric motors. Huawei listed a combined peak output of 390kW.
The company said the electric drive system received V800-specific noise, vibration and harshness tuning. Adaptive torque control adjusts motor output over bumps and on slippery surfaces.
A 65kWh battery provides a claimed 340km of electric range under China’s CLTC test cycle (272km WLTP estimate). The quoted combined range is 1,335km.
The V800 also uses an 800V electrical architecture and rear-wheel steering of up to 12 degrees. Launch-day reports list Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 driver-assistance system with full-chain hardware redundancy.
