ECARX technology is now used in more than 12 million vehicles worldwide, spanning 18 carmakers, 28 brands and 159 markets.
The Nasdaq-listed automotive technology company, controlled by Geely founder Li Shufu, said it added more than 914,000 vehicle deployments in the first half of 2026 alone.
A January 2026 US regulatory filing showed Li beneficially owned 53.5% of ECARX’s outstanding ordinary shares.
Its systems are used by brands including Geely, FAW-Hongqi, Lotus, Polestar, Volvo Cars, Renault and Volkswagen.
ECARX supplies technology covering intelligent cockpits, vehicle software, operating systems, centralised computing and advanced driver assistance systems. It has also been moving beyond cockpit electronics into integrated computing and software platforms capable of handling a wider range of vehicle functions.
That expansion includes its pending acquisition of Flyme Auto, an intelligent cockpit operating system business. ECARX said the deal would bring Flyme Auto’s software capabilities under its control once completed.
Flyme Auto recorded more than 1.17 million vehicle deployments from January to August this year, taking its cumulative total to 3.44 million vehicles. It has also been nominated to provide software for what ECARX described only as a leading international luxury brand in China.
ECARX was founded in 2017 by Ziyu Shen and Li Shufu and listed on Nasdaq in 2022. It is headquartered in London and operates from 15 major locations across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Chief executive Ziyu Shen said the 12-million-vehicle mark reflected ECARX’s ability to scale its technology across different vehicle platforms.
The customer list also shows how far ECARX has moved beyond its Geely roots. Geely-linked brands remain prominent users, but its systems are now fitted to vehicles from several unrelated global manufacturers as software takes on a larger role in vehicle architecture.
