BYD Cars Malaysia has introduced a Hibiscus Red version of the Sealion 7 Performance to mark Malaysia Day, with just 16 units available nationwide.
The Hibiscus Red finish is inspired by the hibiscus, or bunga raya, Malaysia’s national flower.
The special edition is offered only in the dual-motor all-wheel-drive Performance variant.
It is priced at RM197,800 under BYD’s current Year End Deal, representing a RM6,000 reduction from the Performance model’s RM203,800 recommended retail price.
There are no announced mechanical changes for the Hibiscus Red model. The 2026 Sealion 7 Performance produces 390 kW and 690 Nm, with 0–100 kph taking 4.5 seconds.
Its 91.39 kWh Blade lithium iron phosphate battery provides a claimed 600 km of range under the NEDC cycle. DC charging peaks at 230 kW.
The refreshed Sealion 7 range was introduced in Malaysia in July, adding the entry-level Dynamic while upgrading the Premium and Performance with larger batteries and faster charging.
The Hibiscus Red edition adds a distinctly Malaysian colour option to the Performance without altering its specification.
