Fiat has put the tiny Topolino on sale in the United States, adding a small electric runabout built for gated communities, resorts, beach towns and short local trips.
The 2026 Fiat Topolino starts from US$13,995 (RM57,000), excluding destination charges, with limited units available through selected US dealers. The launch also takes Stellantis into the US micromobility market.
Fiat offers two versions: the regular Topolino and the more open Topolino Dolcevita.
Both are small enough to make a kei car look serious.
The Topolino measures roughly 2.5 metres long, 1.4 metres wide and 1.55 metres tall, with the standard version weighing about 487kg.
Power comes from a 5.4kWh lithium-ion battery, giving up to 74km of range. A full charge takes around five hours on a 2.3kW AC supply.
It is not built for speed. The standard top speed is 31kph, although Fiat said owners will be able to fit a Low Speed Vehicle conversion kit by late summer 2026.
That raises the maximum speed to 40kph and allows road use where local low-speed vehicle rules permit it. In the US, these vehicles are generally limited to roads with speed limits of 56kph or below, depending on state and local rules.
Equipment is simple. The Topolino gets Verde Vita paint, 14-inch wheels with vintage-style covers, LED lighting, hinged windows, a digital cluster, storage spaces, a phone holder and a bag hook.
The standard model adds a panoramic sunroof and windscreen defrost. The Dolcevita gets a roll-back soft-top, rope-style door openings and Dolce Vita badging.
Fiat is also working with Motori & Customs on custom builds for US buyers, from prepared editions to one-off cars.
Do not read this as a smaller Fiat 500e. The Topolino is closer to a dressed-up neighbourhood vehicle with more weather protection and character than a golf cart.
