KLIMS 2026 heads into its final day on Sunday after giving Malaysian car buyers one of the year’s broadest looks at new and upcoming models.
Held from June 12 to 21 at Mitec, the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show spread across seven halls, bringing together new cars, concepts, hybrids, EVs and conventional models under one roof.
Around 70 cars from various brands were available for test drives, while accessory, service and lifestyle companies added more variety beyond the main vehicle stands.
This was not a China-only show, but Chinese carmakers were hard to miss. They formed one of the largest blocs on the floor and supplied much of the EV and plug-in hybrid news.
Japanese, Korean and national brands still had a strong presence, keeping KLIMS from becoming a one-country affair.
The biggest pull came from fresh launches and future models.

Among the top cars and showcases were the Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus extended range, which gave Proton’s EV line-up a higher-spec talking point; the MG ZS Hybrid+, a strong hybrid entry in the crowded compact SUV segment; Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N performance EV pair; Zeekr’s 009 Grand four-seat luxury MPV and 9X SUV; and Dongfeng’s late three-model surprise.
Dongfeng’s closing-stretch reveal added extra interest. The brand previewed the 008 SUV, MHero II off-road plug-in hybrid and Voyah Dream MPV, widening its KLIMS presence beyond the Box, Vigo and 007.
Malaysian pricing and launch timing have not been confirmed for the trio, but the preview points to broader ambitions beyond entry-level EVs.
With accessories, car-club activity and family-friendly attractions also in the mix, KLIMS 2026 heads into its final day as a practical snapshot of Malaysia’s uneven but increasingly crowded electrified car market.
