A Hongqi Malaysia website has surfaced, showing the E-HS9 electric SUV and H9 executive sedan as possible early models for the Chinese luxury brand’s local entry.
The site gives useful model information, but there is a catch: it says it is an independent informational resource, and not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by First Automobile Works (FAW), Hongqi or Quill Group. It also notes that the initial Malaysian line-up has not been officially confirmed by Quill.
The site comes after Quill Group signed a memorandum of understanding with China FAW Group to bring Hongqi into Malaysia.
As reported earlier by TienCars, Quill is expected to handle importation, distribution and local assembly, with a launch targeted around mid-2026. Hongqi is FAW’s luxury marque, and the brand’s regional push is expected to include right-hand-drive sport utility vehicle (SUV) models for Southeast Asia from the second half of 2026.
The E-HS9 page lists a dual-motor all-wheel-drive battery electric vehicle (BEV) setup with 400 kW (544 PS), 750 Nm, a 99 kWh battery, up to 548km WLTP range, 0-100 kph in 4.9 seconds, a 5,209 mm body length and six- or seven-seat layouts.
The H9 page lists the global 3.0-litre supercharged V6 version, with 280 kW (381 PS), 450 Nm, an eight-speed automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive (RWD), a 5,137 mm length, 3,060 mm wheelbase and five seats.
Both sets of figures should be treated as reference specs until Quill confirms the Malaysian line-up.
