Chery said it will use Auto China 2026 to mark a key point in its electrification push, with the Chinese carmaker set to spotlight its latest Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system, unveil new models and underline a broader expansion drive that now stretches deeper into Europe.
Chery is treating the Beijing show and its Global Partners Business Summit as a chance to show how far its hybrid technology has come.
Chery traced that story back to its late-1990s engine development programme, saying nearly three decades of in-house work across engines, hybrid systems and control software have led to its current fifth-generation setup.
At the centre of it is a dedicated 1.5-litre GDI hybrid engine with claimed thermal efficiency of 44.5%, paired with a DHT transmission that Chery said reaches 98.5% efficiency.
The company also said the system has been tested in tough conditions, including desert heat, Siberian cold and European roads, as it tries to show the hardware is not just engineered for lab figures but for daily use in very different markets.
The brand said its Auto China presence will focus not only on headline technology, but also on how that technology serves family buyers across a wide spread of use cases, from city commuting to longer journeys.
Earlier this month, Chery confirmed the opening of its first overseas regional operations centre in Barcelona, alongside a Spain R&D institute.
The new hub is meant to support European business functions including supply chain coordination, compliance, finance and public affairs, while also helping develop products shaped around European requirements.
Chery said it is now present in 18 European markets and serves more than 100,000 users in the region. It also pointed to a new partnership with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, organiser of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as part of its broader international push.
In summary, Chery is using Auto China 2026 for more than a product reveal. It is using the show to argue that its hybrid technology, overseas expansion and localisation strategy now form part of the same global plan.
