Pro-NET said the Proton e.MAS 5 broke new ground for electric vehicles in Malaysia after the model landed among the country’s top five best-selling passenger vehicles for the month, based on its first full month of deliveries.
In a statement dated Feb 12, 2026, Pro-NET, Proton’s new-energy subsidiary, said it delivered 3,068 units of the e.MAS 5 nationwide, which it said made the car Malaysia’s best-selling battery-electric vehicle model for the month.
It also said the e.MAS 5 captured 49.2% of the BEV market and 4.5% of total car sales for the period.
Pro-NET added that the early results helped position the e.MAS brand as Malaysia’s No. 1 EV brand, citing early-year sales and booking momentum across its EV and plug-in hybrid line-up.
Pro-NET CEO Zhang Qiang said the response reflected “Malaysians’ continued trust and confidence in the brand” and growing acceptance of electric mobility as a practical route for daily driving.
The company attributed the e.MAS 5’s appeal to day-to-day usability, a balanced driving experience and pricing, alongside tech features aimed at convenience and comfort.
It also said early colour preferences, with Moonstone White leading demand, followed by Marble Cream and Quartz Rose.
Alongside the sales update, Pro-NET announced a festive charging promotion running Feb 14–22, offering 25% lower charging fees when users pay via the Proton e.MAS App and Hello smart App.
It said the discounts would appear in-app and cover access to more than 4,300 charging points nationwide.
A separate after-sales programme, valid from Feb 1–Mar 31, at 36 authorised Proton e.MAS 3S centres, is bundling a free inspection, RM50 service voucher, complimentary car wash, charging to 80% state of charge, and free angpao packets. Terms apply.
