Zeekr rolled out a new over-the-air software update for the Zeekr 009 today, pushing Zeekr OS 2.2 to the electric MPV with a mix of fresh functions and tighter tuning to existing features.
One of the headline additions is RSPA Remote Smart Parking Assist for straight-in and straight-out manoeuvres. In theory, it lets owners guide the 009 into, or out of, a tight bay using the mobile app, which could be handy when there’s barely room to open the doors.
Safety also gets a boost with Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Brake Assist (RCTA). The system monitors vehicles or pedestrians approaching from the side while reversing, then issues warnings and can brake automatically if required.
For iPhone users, Zeekr adds CCC 3.0 Digital Key, turning an iPhone into a proximity key for automatic unlocking. Rear passengers also get an iPhone-only wireless screen mirroring option for the pop-down rear screen, alongside newly supported entertainment and audio-visual apps, including Netflix.
The update broadens personalisation with Chinese handwriting input (simplified and traditional) and easier switching of speed, distance and temperature units.
Dashcam functions expand too, with favourites and a horn-triggered emergency recording feature, designed to lock key clips from being overwritten.
Other changes include a new Zeekr Smart Tag accessory, added rear-cabin controls for Hong Kong users, and an upgraded Guest Mode that can disable Bluetooth, hotspot and Wi-Fi.
Zeekr has also revised driving mode logic, and introduced an in-app data top-up function, subject to regional app rollouts.
