Proton is kicking off 2026 with a new export pitch in Singapore, unveiling a 100kW version of the all-electric e.MAS 7 at the Singapore Motorshow as it looks to broaden its reach in a market where pricing can hinge on regulatory brackets.

The detuned output is designed to place the e.MAS 7 into COE Category A, a move Proton is positioning as a more attainable entry point while keeping the model’s core safety and usability story intact.

The 100kW variant arrives less than six months after the brand’s return to Singapore, where it has been represented by authorised distributor Vincar Group.

Proton is effectively using the new variant to complement the existing 160kW e.MAS 7 already offered in the island republic.

The company said interest in the higher-powered version has been encouraging, with availability tightening, and that the lower-powered model is meant to better match local demand and the realities of COE-driven pricing.

The e.MAS 7 remains the centrepiece of Proton’s export-led EV narrative, with the carmaker also pointing to its domestic momentum in 2025 as evidence the package travels well.

It is also promoting the car’s safety credentials: Asean NCAP awarded the e.MAS 7 92.57 points, a score Proton described as the strongest in its segment.

The 100kW car is also part of a longer runway. Proton reiterated its wider ambition to reach 330,000 units by 2030, with 30% of that volume targeted from export markets, suggesting more market-specific variants could follow if regulations or demand call for it.

The Proton e.MAS 7 100kW variant is displayed at the Singapore Motorshow from Jan 8-11, with an introductory S$6,000 (around RM19,000) rebate for bookings placed during the event.
