Mazda has pulled the covers off the all-new, all-electric Mazda CX-6e at the Brussels Motor Show, positioning the mid-sized SUV as its next European-facing EV alongside the recently introduced Mazda6e.
The Mazda CX-6e uses a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and sends power to the rear wheels via a rear-mounted electric motor producing 258PS and 290Nm.
Mazda claims a driving range of up to 483km (WLTP) and said the car supports up to 195kW DC fast charging, with a 10%–80% top-up quoted at 24 minutes.
Performance figures are firmly mainstream rather than hot-hatch. Mazda quoted 0–100kph in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 185kph, with a single-speed transmission driving the rear axle.
Inside, the company leans heavily on screen-led usability.
The CX-6e features a 26-inch touchscreen with a configurable split layout, paired with a head-up display that overlays navigation guidance into the driver’s sightline. Gesture control is also offered for selecting saved routes or media functions without reaching for the display.
For voice control, Mazda said multilingual voice recognition responds to everyday requests such as adjusting temperature, opening windows or setting a destination.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, while a dedicated app adds remote features including Bluetooth key sharing and battery charge management.
Home and workplace charging is supported via an 11kW three-phase onboard charger using Type 2 connectors, Mazda said.
Safety equipment is pitched as standard-heavy. Mazda said every CX-6e comes with nine airbags and an array of high-definition cameras, millimetre-wave radar and ultrasonic sensors.
Driver assistance systems listed include Smart Brake Support, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring.
Design-wise, Mazda described the CX-6e as an evolution of its Kodo theme for the EV era, riding on a 2,902mm wheelbase with short overhangs.
Boot space is quoted at 468 litres, expanding to 1,434 litres with the second-row seats folded. Seven exterior colours will be offered, led by Nightfall Violet.
“The all-new Mazda CX-6e brings our human-centric approach into the electric era, combining great design, driving enjoyment, and advanced technology for European customers,” Mazda Motor Europe president and CEO Martijn ten Brink said.
Alongside the CX-6e, Mazda also showed the all-new Mazda CX-5 in Brussels, previewing an updated look and a new Navy Blue paint option.
