iCaur has launched its first model in Malaysia after over a year of preview.
The boxy iCaur 03 electric SUV is offered in 2WD (RM119,800) and iWD dual-motor (RM129,800) trims. Prices are on-the-road without insurance.
Initial units are fully imported from China, with CKD assembly planned from January 2026 at Chery’s Shah Alam plant.
A 100-unit Black Phantom Edition adds a matte bodykit, roof rack and side ladder for an extra RM20,000.
The C-segment vehicle measures 4,406/1,910/1,715mm (length/width/height) with a 2,715mm wheelbase.
Its upright design draws on off-road cues and hides practical touches such as a 40-litre auxiliary cargo box.
Off-road stats include 28° approach, 32° departure, 55% gradeability and 450 mm wading depth. Boot space is 450 litres, expanding to 1,238 litres with the rear seats folded.
Powertrains differ between the two versions. The 2WD runs a rear-motor setup rated at 184 hp/220Nm, 0–100kph in 10.5 s, and a 65.7 kWh LFP battery good for 426km NEDC.
The iWD adds a front motor for 279 hp/385Nm, 0–100kph in 6.5 s, and a 69.8 kWh LFP pack with 418km NEDC (about 342 km WLTP quoted for this variant).
Both support DC fast-charge up to 80kW (30–80% in 30 minutes), AC charging up to 11 kW, and V2L at 3.2kW.
Cabin kit is generous. Standard items include a 15.6-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 9.2-inch digital cluster, dual-zone climate with rear vents, leather upholstery, front and rear ventilated seats, a 50W wireless charger, and a powered driver’s seat with memory and welcome functions.
The iWD upgrades to a 12-speaker Infinity system; the 2WD gets eight speakers.
Safety and driver aids cover six airbags, an integrated dashcam and an ADAS suite featuring AEB, ACC with Traffic Jam Assist, Blind-spot monitoring, Lane-keep/Departure functions, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Door-opening warning, and a 540° camera with transparent chassis view.
Early buyers receive added value. The first 1,000 customers get one year of unlimited public charging via JomCharge (including roaming partners), a lifestyle pack worth RM3,000, a complimentary AC wallbox (charger unit), and standardised installation available via partners.
iCaur also confirmed CKD pricing would match today’s announced figures once local assembly starts.
Aftersales is anchored by a 7-year/150,000km vehicle warranty and 8-year/160,000km coverage for the battery, drive unit and high-voltage components, with a one-for-one battery replacement if state of health drops below 70%.
Key specs at a glance: dual-variant line-up, rear- or dual-motor powertrains, LFP batteries, 80 kW DC/11 kW AC charging, strong ADAS and infotainment, and early-bird charging perks — positioning the iCaur 03 as a value-led, off-road-flavoured EV alternative in Malaysia’s crowded C-SUV segment.
