GWM Malaysia has opened orders for the Tank 500, its hybrid luxury sports utility vehicle, with estimated pricing below RM350,000.
The seven-seat SUV forms part of GWM’s Tank series, which has achieved over 600,000 cumulative sales globally and maintained China’s best-selling off-road SUV status for 52 consecutive months with more than 50% market share.
The Tank 500 measures 5,078 mm in length, 1,934 mm in width and 1,905 mm in height, riding on a 2,850 mm wheelbase.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder hybrid turbocharged engine delivering a combined 255 kW (346 PS) and 648Nm, paired with a nine-speed hybrid automatic transmission.
Its all-terrain system provides 11 driving modes, alongside Tank Turn and Off-road Cruise Control, while intelligent four-wheel drive with M-Lock and a “transparent” chassis enhance off-road capability.
Level 2+ driving assist supports driver convenience. Inside, the Tank 500 boasts Nappa leather seats, an Infinity sound system, electric side steps, and front seats with both massage and ventilation functions.
Safety features include an ultra-high-strength body and six airbags. The model is offered in Crystal Gray, Hamilton White and Sun Black, and is available exclusively at 14 GWM Malaysia outlets.
