China’s BYD has named Maria Grazia Davino as regional managing director for Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, and the Czech Republic.
Davino, who will start her role on Dec 1, brings significant experience from Stellantis, where she was UK group managing director. Her appointment is part of BYD’s ongoing effort to strengthen its European footprint as the company expands its electric vehicle distribution and manufacturing in the region.
With factories underway in Hungary and Turkey, BYD aims to establish local manufacturing capacity in Europe, supporting its ambitious growth.
The appointment comes amid a wave of leadership changes at BYD, as it hires seasoned European executives to support its expansion.
Davino’s background includes senior positions within Stellantis and Fiat Chrysler since 2013, with roles across sales, marketing, and management in various European markets.
