Geely has launched its first dedicated electrified off-road SUV, the Galaxy Zhanjian 700, in China with up to 1,129 PS and a claimed combined driving range of 1,770 km.
Known internationally as the Battleship 700, the plug-in hybrid SUV is offered in six variants priced from 189,800 to 379,800 yuan (RM115,800 to RM231,700).
Limited-time promotional prices start at 169,800 yuan (RM103,600), subject to purchase incentives.
The Battleship 700 is the first production model built on Geely’s GTA architecture, developed specifically for electrified off-road vehicles.
Its integrated frame structure combines the rigidity required for difficult terrain with the packaging and refinement benefits of a unibody design.
The SUV uses Geely’s EM-T hybrid system, with the flagship 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and three electric motors producing 830 kW (1,129 PS) and 1,330 Nm.
Geely also quotes 13,920 Nm of wheel torque, a separate measurement from powertrain output torque.
The flagship can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 3.95 seconds, while the maximum combined range of 1,770 km is measured under China’s CLTC cycle.
A 47.14 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery provides up to 305 km of CLTC electric-only range, depending on the variant.
The SUV features an AI all-terrain control system that identifies surface conditions and adjusts traction, power delivery and chassis settings automatically.
An intelligent climbing function coordinates four-wheel drive and power distribution to help drivers negotiate difficult slopes.
Other capabilities include a maximum wading depth of 800 mm and an emergency flotation mode that allows the vehicle to move through water in exceptional circumstances.
Geely also claims a roof-crush resistance of 161 kN, supported by an integrated rollover protection structure.
The five-seat SUV measures 5,085 mm long and 1,999 mm wide, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase.
China sales began on Oct 10, with Geely reporting more than 10,000 orders within 12 minutes of launch.
The company plans to introduce the Battleship 700 in overseas markets, although export destinations and launch dates have not been announced.
