Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) and PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) have announced a leadership transition with the appointment of Renate Noessler and Kurt Leitner as co-managing directors. Noessler becomes the first woman to head VPCM’s business and operations, while Leitner joins her in overseeing both Volkswagen’s Malaysian operations and the Audi brand under PHSAM.

Noessler arrives with 30 years of automotive industry experience, having most recently served as general manager of sales at Audi Singapore, where she drove market growth across Southeast Asia.

Together, she and Leitner will focus on enhancing customer experience, expanding Volkswagen’s market presence and advancing innovation at both companies.

Outgoing managing director Denyu Bostandzhiev, who led VPCM and PHSAM since July 2023, will transition to a leadership role at Porsche Holdings Salzburg in Bulgaria.

During his tenure in Malaysia, Bostandzhiev oversaw the launch of the Volkswagen Touareg, several special-edition models and the locally assembled Audi Q7.

VPCM is the authorised distributor of Volkswagen vehicles in Malaysia, while PHSAM handles Audi’s distribution. The new co-leadership aims to build on recent product launches and strengthen dealer partnerships.
