GoCar is offering Socar users in Malaysia up to RM200 in promotional value as Socar prepares to end its local car-sharing operations on Aug 31.
The offer can be used for GoCar Share bookings, with up to RM20 applied to each booking until the RM200 maximum is reached.
Eligible users must register with GoCar between Aug 19 and Sept 30, 2026 and submit a screenshot of their existing Socar wallet for verification. The promotional value is valid for qualifying bookings made by Dec 31, subject to terms and conditions.
The move follows Socar’s announcement that it would cease car-sharing operations in Malaysia after eight years in the market.
GoCar chief executive officer Wong Hoe Mun said the company expects many Socar users will continue to need occasional access to a vehicle for work, errands, family trips and other journeys.
GoCar operates in the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Baru, serving more than 40,000 users annually. Vehicles available through its app include compact cars, sedans, SUVs, MPVs and electric vehicles.
The company also operates GoCar P2P, a peer-to-peer service that allows private vehicle owners to list their cars for rental, widening the range of vehicles and locations available through the platform.
