Leapmotor has released the first interior images of the A05s through its official Chinese social-media channel, showing a brightly coloured cabin for its new A-series electric hatchback.

The cabin combines pink with an off-white tone in a two-tone layout, with sections of environmentally marketed faux-suede material.

It has a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, digital instrument display and freestanding central touchscreen.

The centre console contains a wireless phone-charging pad and two cupholders arranged lengthways.

Leapmotor’s photographs also show ambient lighting, a rear centre armrest and embroidered graphics on the front and rear head restraints.

The car shown also carries a roof-mounted lidar unit; Leapmotor has not detailed the driver-assistance functions tied to it, though media reporting suggests it may support features such as navigate-on-autopilot and memory parking.

The A05s adopts styling cues from the A10, including rounded bodywork and a similar “smiling” rear-light treatment.

However, it is a separate five-door hatchback rather than an official hatchback derivative of the A10.

Chinese regulatory information listed the related A05 at 4,200mm long, 1,800mm wide and 1,560mm tall, with a 2,605mm wheelbase.

Motor outputs of 70kW and 90kW are paired with 39.8kWh and 53kWh batteries, providing claimed China light-duty vehicle test cycle ranges of 405km and 510km.

Pricing and launch timing have not been announced.
