Pro-NET has introduced the locally produced 2026 Proton e.MAS 7 in Malaysia, pitching it as a key step in building out the country’s electric vehicle ecosystem and keeping pricing within reach for mainstream buyers.

The model starts from RM99,800 on-the-road without insurance under a limited-time offer.

Pro-NET CEO Zhang Qiang said local production and lower pricing reflected a push to deliver electric vehicles that were both “innovative and affordable for Malaysian drivers”, while also thanking customers for making the e.MAS 7 Malaysia’s best-selling EV in 2025.

He said the 2026 updates and “locally adapted specifications” aimed to deliver a more convenient and safer drive.

Updates differ by variant. For the e.MAS 7 Prime, Pro-NET added a powered tailgate, allowing the boot to be opened or closed via a button press or key fob.

For the e.MAS 7 Premium, Pro-NET upgraded the advanced driver assistance systems with three new functions: Evasive Manoeuvre Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert and Active Lane Change Assist.

It said the additions supported emergency obstacle avoidance, improved awareness of cross-traffic at intersections and assisted lane changes through blind-spot monitoring and steering support.

To mark the rollout, buyers received a Welcome Benefit package worth RM4,000 for a limited time.

Pro-NET listed a complimentary 7kW home charger (RM1,500), a V2L adaptor (RM500) and five years of unlimited internet data (RM1,800). It also bundled a six-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000km high-voltage battery and component warranty.

Pro-NET is also offering a Proton owner trade-in rebate worth RM5,000.

Pricing, on-the-road without insurance, starts at RM103,800 (Peninsular Malaysia) and RM106,800 (East Malaysia) for the Prime, and RM119,800 and RM122,800 respectively for the Premium.

With the limited-time RM4,000 rebate applied, prices come down to RM99,800 and RM102,800 for the Prime, and RM115,800 and RM118,800 for the Premium.
