A total of 9,549 Proton e.MAS electric vehicles are now in operation, as the brand points to a growing owner base and bigger delivery volumes heading into 2026.

Proton’s figures, dated to Dec 31, 2025, showed the e.MAS 7 accounts for 9,336 registrations in total.

Of that, 8,677 units are registered locally, while 659 units are listed as exports. The newer, smaller e.MAS 5 added 213 units delivered so far, taking the combined in-operation figure to 9,549.

Pro-NET, Proton’s new energy arm, positions the fleet as having a measurable environmental effect.

It estimated the current parc can offset up to 10 million litres of petrol per year and avoid up to 21,000 tonnes of tailpipe carbon dioxide emissions annually, alongside reductions in nitrogen oxides and particulate matter.

The company also claimed its EVs generated around six to 10dB less noise than internal combustion vehicles at low speeds, which it linked to quieter urban driving.

Pro-NET chief executive officer Zhang Qiang said 2025 was a turning point not only for sales growth, but also for everyday, street-level impact.

The e.MAS 7, launched in December 2024, was the company’s first fully electric model, based of course, on a Geely SUV. Its e.MAS 5 is also derived from the Geely portfolio.

Pro-NET said interest in the e.MAS 5 remains strong. The model, launched on Oct 30 last year, recorded more than 14,600 bookings by end-2025, with deliveries rolling out in phases into the first quarter of 2026.

Separately, Pro-NET said it would introduce owner after-sales perks from Jan 1, 2026 including free car washes at selected service centres and free charging up to 80%, subject to availability.
